Please note the following requirements are intended as general guidelines for installing the OCE on some commonly-encountered platforms.

The following operating systems are in particular recommended:

• Sun Solaris 8 and above
• Apple Mac OS X / X Server
• Microsoft Windows 2000 / XP / 2003 Server

Software (Deployment)

• Java 1.4.2 Virtual Machine
• Apple WebObjects 5.2 (Update 3 applied)
• JDBC 2-compliant database
  
  Example EOModels are provided for the following databases:
  
  MySQL 3.* and later
  Oracle 8.1.7 and later
  MS SQLServer 2000 and later
  
  
• CGI-compliant web server (Apache recommended)
• Perl 5.6-compatible distribution
  
  ActiveState Perl 5.6.* is recommended.
  
  
• Apache Log4J library (1.2.8 or later)
• Apache Commons Codec library (1.2 or later)

Software (Development)

As for deployment, with the following additions:

• IBM Eclipse 2.1.3 (or later), with WOLips plugin (1.0.7.50 or later)

• JUnit Java unit testing suite.
• DBUnit database testing suite.
